On the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4th February, RKSD College in collaboration with the College Alumni Cell and Women’s Cell organized a seminar on “Cancer: Causes and its Treatment” in the seminar hall for the evening session. On this occasion, Dr. Vijay Bansal, Head of the Department of Cancer Surgery, Ivy Hospital, Mohali was the chief guest and keynote speaker. On reaching the college, Dr. Sanjay Goyal welcomed Dr. Bansal by giving him a bouquet of flowers and a memento and gave a brief introduction of the speaker. Staff Secretary Dr. SP Verma conducted the proceedings of the forum. In his presentation, Dr. Bansal talked about various types of cancer like oral cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, blood cancer etc. He highlighted the importance of its early signs, symptoms and its preventive measures, various types of vaccination campaigns launched by the government. Different age groups. The presentation ended with Dr. Bansal answering various questions from the staff and students regarding cancer prevention measures and its trials. Dr. Naresh Garg proposed vote of thanks. On this occasion, all the staff members of the college and students of morning and evening sessions were present.
