Powerpoint Competition on Various Aspects of Virginia Woolf’s Writings

To commemorate the birth anniversary of an Eminent Literary writer Virginia Woolf, Department of English organised a Powerpoint Competition on Various Aspects of Virginia Woolf’s Writings for the students of MA English IVth Semester on 27th January,2024. Six Teams of PG Students (Mandeep, Priyanka, Monika, Monika& Manisha , Anu and Komal and Anshika) presented their PPTs on different topics such as ‘Impact of WWI and WWII on Contemporary literature’, ‘Virginia Woolf and Gender Issues in Victorian society’, ‘Feminism and its types and major feminist writers’, ‘Feminism in the novel To the Lighthouse’. Virginia Woolf has been considered as one of the important modernist authors of the 20th century. Her magnum opus ‘A Room for One’s Own’ and ‘To the Light House’ popularized her as a feminist in the Literary world. The Programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr Sanjay Goyal. He congratulated HOD, Dr Rajbir Parashar and conveners of the program for organising such wonderful literary events. The conveners of the event were Dr Geeta Goyal and Dr Manjula Goel. Anshika and Priyanka ,Komal and Jyoti acted as student coordinators. On this occasion faculty members,Prof. Anjali,Dr SP Verma Prof. Archana from morning session and Mr.Manish,Mr.Kush, Mr Raj kumar,Mrs. Himani and Mrs.Reena from evening session were present. Dr Seema Gupta and Dr Vikas Bhardwaj acted as judges. Mandeep and Priyanka bagged first position Anshika bagged second position.
