The Economics Association of Department of Economics organised a one day trip to Kausali and Chandigarh on May 14, 2022 under the guidance of Faculty, Department of Economics Dr. Virander Goyal (Head), Dr. Suraj Walia & Dr. Ritu Walia. The purpose of the trip was to understand and analyse the role of tourism/tourists in the development of an economy. Students Visited Kausali, one of the preferred destination of tourists in Solan district. Total 46 students analyse the local facilities, Govt. polices & local businesses to promote the tourism in this region which clearly justify the Tourism is an engine of economic growth. At Chandigarh, students visited Elante Mall, with the purpose to understand and analyse the hypothesis of Consumption led Growth. In their visit, students understand the concepts of Consumerism, Market Size & Consumer as a King etc. On the trip Students also enjoyed various sight scenes at Kausali and it’s nearby places.
