The Post Budget Webinar 2026-27 on the theme “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People” was organized and hosted by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with NITI Aayog. The webinar was livecast at the college seminar hall, where faculty members and students attended the session collectively to gain insights into the Union Budget 2026 and its implications for higher education. The live streaming of the webinar was facilitated by the members of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), enabling participants to engage with the discussions and policy perspectives shared by experts. Principal Dr. Gagan Mittal appreciated this initiative and commended the IIC Convener, Dr. Rachna Sardana, and the IIC members for successfully arranging the livecast and encouraging academic engagement among faculty members and students.
The webinar consisted of five thematic sessions that highlighted major initiatives announced in the Union Budget. Session 1, titled “Education to Employment and Enterprise,” emphasized the need to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements while promoting entrepreneurship and skill development among students. Session 2 focused on the Orange Economy -AVGC Content Creator Lab, highlighting emerging opportunities in animation, visual effects, gaming, and other creative digital industries. Session 3 discussed the establishment and vision of the National Institute of Design, underlining the importance of design education in fostering innovation and creativity. Session 4 highlighted key initiatives including the development of five university townships, the provision of girls’ hostels in every district for STEM institutions, and the Divyangajan Kaushal Yojana, aimed at promoting inclusive skill development and enhancing opportunities for persons with disabilities. Session 5 focused on the development of four telescopic infrastructure facilities, which are expected to strengthen India’s scientific and technological research capabilities.
The webinar was enriched by the participation of eminent speakers including Vineet Joshi (Secretary, Higher Education), Chandrajit Banerjee (Director General, CII), Chaitanya Chinchlikar (VP & CTO, Whistling Woods International), Sridhar Marri (NID Alumnus and AI Startup Founder), Govindan Rangarajan (Director, IISc Bangalore), Shuchi Sinha (Associate Professor, IIT Delhi), Annapurni Subramaniam (Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics), and Manmeet K. Nanda (Additional Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities), along with other experts from various ministries and departments. The webinar concluded with closing remarks by Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Science & Technology, and Rao Inderjit Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Planning, who highlighted the importance of innovation, research, and skill development in strengthening India’s higher education ecosystem.
The webinar was attended by Dr. Rachna Sardana (IIC Convener), Mr. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Manoj Bansal, Dr. Babita Garg, and Mr. Vishal Garg, along with around 55 students, who actively participated in the session and gained valuable insights into the policy initiatives and opportunities emerging from the Union Budget 2026 for the higher education sector
