On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a State Level Declamation competition was organized by the Department of Political Science on Oct 1, 2019.
A total of 28 participants from all over Haryana presented their views on the topic “Relevance of Gandhiji’s thoughts in the present context”. Earlier, Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal welcomed all the participants, team incharge, jury members to the college campus. He called upon the younger generation that there is a need to know Gandhi’s thoughts more deeply in contemporary times. Today’s problems are arising because Gandhi’s principles have been abandoned. Head of Department Dr. C.B. Saini also congratulated the jury members- Prof. B. B. Bhardwaj, Dr. R. Of. Gupta and Prof. P.S. Nirvanis were introduced and all the other guests were welcomed.
At the award ceremony, RVS And the general secretary of the management committee, Mr. Pankaj Bansal, the treasurer, Mr. Shyam Bansal, the head of the evening session, Mr. Navneet Goyal, advocate, respected member of the collegium, Dr. B. D. Gupta distributed prizes to the winners. The results were as follows:
- First place Kajal M.L. N. College, Yamuna Nagar received and Rs.2100/- as prize money Received.
- Purnima, RKSD College, Kaithal got the second position and won Rs.1500/- as prize.
- Sakshi, MKJK College Rohtak and Priya Hindu College Jind got the third position jointly.
- Tapasya, Hindu College Jind received Rs.500 as consolation prize.
