The National Voters’ Day is celebrated every year to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India, which was established on 25th January, 1950. In regard to the celebrations of 8th National Voters’ Day on 25th Jan.2018 with the theme “Inclusive and Qualitative Participation in Democracy”, R.K.S.D (P.G) College, Kaithal held a District Level event in its premises under the aegis of District Election Commission, Kaithal on 9th Nov.2017. Principal, Dr. O.P Garg inaugurated the event and stated that besides studying, the youth have a vital role to play in nation building. The youth should realize that their participation in elections would help strengthen the democratic system. The Nodal Officer and Convener, Dr. Bijender along with organizing members of the event, Dr. Ashok Attri and Prof. Richa Langyan welcomed the gathering and explained the importance of democratic system. Various competitions were held in order to create awareness regarding ethical voting and the event witnessed enthusiastic participation of the students from different colleges of the district. Dr, Vinay Singhal, Dr. Surender Arya, Dr. Sanjay Garg, Dr. Rakesh Mittal, Prof. Parshant and Dr. Arti Aggarwal were acted as judges. In the Debate Competition, Purnima & Mansi (R.K.S.D College) stood first, Himmat & Ritu (R.K.S.D College) got second position and Pooja & Isha ( I.G College) got third position. In Essay Writing Competition, Purnima ( R.K.S.D College) stood first, Krishna (I.G College) got second position and Rozy (I.G College) got third position. A Rangoli Competition was also held in which Bhawna & Geeta (R.K.S.D College) got first, Juhi & Baby (R.K.S.D College), and Sapna (I.G College) got second, Anjali and Shefali (Jat College, Kaithal) got third position. Prof. Vikas Bhardwaj, Prof. Raghbir Lamba, Prof. Parveen Kaushik, Dr. Hem Lata, Dr. Deepa Sharma and Prof. Deepshikha also marked their presence and graced the occasion.
