A PPT on Robert Browning and Enactment: Dialogues in Situation Competition

A PPT on Robert Browning and Enactment: Dialogues in Situation Competition was organised by the English Literary Society for MA English, II semester students on 20th May, 2022. Different aspects of Browning’s poetry such as love theme, use of dramatic monologue and philosophy of optimism were presented by five different teams of students through power point presentations. Team of Sunaina, Nancy and Mamta bagged first position. Their presentation was on ‘Browning’s Philosophy’. Second position was secured by Komal who presented on the topic ‘Browning and his Contemporaries’. Third prize was given to team of Shagun, Kajal and Aarti. In Enactment, 37 students in 12 teams participated and enacted different situations such as Scene at a jewellery shop, situation of a roadways bus, IELTS coaching centre, job interview, hospital situation, Food stall, parent-teacher meet, discussion on movie etc. First prize was bagged by team RKSDians with Nishu, Jyoti, Kajal, and Shagun as members. They enacted a classroom situation. Anjali, Reetu, Pushpa and Vipin of Team Suspense performed the Situation of a Roadways Bus and bagged second position. Third position was won by team Centre Fresh and Joy collectively. Pinky, Vandana and Usha played the scene of English Coaching Centre and Sunaina, Nancy and Mamta enacted the Hospital situation. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr Sanjay Goyal. In his address, he highlighted the importance of such activities in overall development of a student’s personality and congratulated the Department and the English Literary Society for this initiative. Dr Harender Gupta, Principal In-charge of Evening session, Dr Rajbir Parashar, Head of English Department, Dr Naresh Garg, President of English Literary society also addressed the participants. Dr Dr Seema Mittal, Dr Manjula Goyal, Dr Vikas Bhardwaj, Dr Suruchi Sharma Ms Richa Langyan and Ms Himani, acted as judges. Pratibha and Tamanna compered the programme whereas Jaidev and Monika from MA Final year clicked the pictures. The convener of the event, Dr Geeta Goyal passed a formal vote of thanks.
