Department of Political Science
About
The Department of Political Science holds a distinct reputation and prominent place in RKSD (PG) College, Kaithal. Established in 1959 for undergraduate teaching, the department expanded in 1979 by introducing Post-Graduate classes under the aided structure.
Dr. R.P. Vij, a renowned scholar, was the first faculty member appointed in the department. With the increasing popularity of Political Science, seven regular posts were created under the aided structure. Over time, 14 regular faculty members have served, with six currently in service.
The department boasts separate classrooms, a staff room, and a projector room. Political Science remains one of the most popular subjects at the undergraduate level, with approximately 350 students (out of 560 in B.A. 1st year) choosing it as their first-choice subject. Currently, Dr. C.B. Saini is the Head of the Department.
At the Postgraduate level, 50 students enroll each year. The department continues to carry forward its glorious legacy through dynamic teaching and learning practices.
