Department of Physics

About

Established in 1959, the Department of Physics has played a vital role in promoting science education at both the school and college levels.
The founding generation included eminent physicists such as Sh. K. K. Khanna, Sh. R. L. Gupta, Sh. S. K. Gupta, and Dr. H. S. Saini.

Notably, Dr. S. K. Goyal, a distinguished faculty member and renowned researcher, became the regular Principal of the college on 13 November 2018.

Currently, the department offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Non-Medical program with optional subjects in Electronics and Computer Science.
The department has evolved into an excellent center for teaching, learning, and research, committed to the holistic development of students.

The department has eight faculty members (two permanent and six ad-hoc) against a total of four sanctioned posts.
At present, Dr. A. K. Narula serves as the Head of Department, actively engaged in radiation measurements and underground water studies research.
