About

The Department of Geography was established in 1983 with the appointment of Dr. Kishan Lal as its first regular faculty member. Later, Dr. S.S. Dhull (1985) and Dr. M.P. Gupta (1987) joined the department, contributing immensely to its growth.

After the retirement of the founding faculty members, Mr. Raghbir Singh joined as a regular faculty member in 2013 and continues to lead the department with dedication.

Department Strengths

• Active Participation: Every year, the department organizes and participates in activities like Inter-College Quiz Competitions, Science Exhibitions, and Poster Exhibitions.

• Achievements:

  • 1st Position: 1 time

  • 2nd Position: 2 times in Inter-College Quiz Competitions (last four years)

• Student Progression:

  • On average, 2 students secure admission to M.Sc. Geography every year.

  • In the current year, 4 students were admitted to M.Sc. Geography at Kurukshetra University (KUK).

• Supportive Learning: Extra objective-type classes are conducted for quiz preparation.
