Women Cell Activities 2022-23

  1. To celebrate the festival of Karwa Chauth, Women cell organized “Karwa Fest” on 12th October 2022 in the main hall of the college. The girl students showcased their talent in Mehandi Competition and Karwa Exhibition (Thali decoration, Chalni, Kalash, Handmade jewellary etc). This fest also provided an opportunity to the students for earning some income through their mehandi art and selling karwa related items. Dr. Seema Gupta, Dr. Geeta Goyal, Dr. Manjula Goyal,Dr. Shilpi, Ms. Rachna, Ms Richa acted as judges. Himanshi, Sheena and Vidhi bagged 1st position in mehandi competition and Karwa exhibition respectively.
  2. A handcraft, Sketching and painting exhibition was organized by the women cell on the occasion of Inter Zonal Youth Festival organized by the college from 16-18 December, 2022 in collaboration with Swarozgar Kendra of the college. Students exhibited their handmade jewellary, mobile covers, sketches of famous personalities, paintings and other handcraft items. This exhibition was viewed and appreciated by hon’ble Vice Chanceller, Kurukshetra University Dr. Somnath Sachdeva. This event was coordinated by Dr. Pooja Gupta.
  3. To create a gender sensitize campus, Women cell displayed banners related to gender sensitization, gender equality in the college campus on 15th December, 2022.
  4. A renowned newspaper of the district ‘Amar Ujala’ organized a programme named “Aparajita” in the college campus in collaboration with women cell with a theme “Challenges faced by working women and their solutions” on 5th January,2023. The female faculty members shared their views on the issue which were published in the newspaper.
  5. On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, Cell organized National Level online poster competition and slogan writing competition on 24th January, 2023. About 150 students across the country participated in the event.
  6. To commemorate the International Women’s Day, an online Financial literacy programme was organized in collaboration with Department of Commerce and Advisor’ Organization on 9th March, 2023 for the female faculty and students of the college. Krishnan Iyer, the resource person from Mumbai enlightened the participants about various avenues of investment mutual funds, Gold bonds, Term Insurance plans. He also answered the queries of participants regarding income tax deduction of health insurance and NPS.
  7. Women Cell organized an Awareness Programme in collaboration with Haryana State Commission for Women on April 18, 2023. The topic was “Legal Awareness on Women Issues and Cyber Crime”. The chief guest and main speaker was Ms. Renu Bhatia, Chairperson, HSCW who addressed the gathering on legal issues related to women. DSP Vivek Chaudhary, Cybercrime branch, District Kaithal awared students about cyber crime and security measures.
