AS IT EXISTS Rashtriya Vidya Samiti (Regd.) Kaithal was formed in the year 1953-54 and was Registered on 18-01-1954 vide Registration No. 78 of 1953-54 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with the “objects to promote education of all sorts, whether physical, cultural, literal, scientific, vocational, industrial or of any other kind amongst all citizens of Bharat and to start and make arrangements for the conduct of management of institutions by way of Schools, Colleges, other Educational Institutions, Public Libraries, Clubs and Reading Rooms or otherwise for the attainment of that objects” and afterwards Re-registered under HRRS Act, 2012 under Registration No. HR-005-2016-01367 dated 28-12-2016.

Immediately after getting registration from the Registrar of Punjab, R.K.S.D. College of Kaithal was founded which is now a well-reputed Post Graduate College. The said college is known for its academic, extra curricular and sports activities. In the Morning Session in under graduate classes, the college is having all the three streams of Arts, Science (Medical as well as Non-Medical) and Commerce. In addition to it, it is also imparting education in Electronics, Computer Science, B.B.A. and B.C.A. At Post Graduate level the four subjects i.e. English, Political Science, Hindi and Mathematics are being taught. Strength in the Morning Session is nearly 3600 and the strength of teaching staff is 66 on permanent basis and nearly 60 on Adhoc basis. The strength of the non teaching staff is nearly 90. The salary of teaching and none teaching staff stand paid for the month of March, 2019 and the payment is regular.

In the year 1994 the said Society started a public school in the name and style of R.K.S.D. Public Senior Secondary School at Kaithal. The said school is having a strength of nearly 2700 students and is imparting education in all the three streams of Science, Commerce and Arts.

The number of teaching staff is nearly 125 and non-teaching is nearly 70. The salary of the staff for the month of March, 2019 stands paid.

R.K.S.D. (P.G.) College, Kaithal is the only college in Haryana that has been permitted in 2003 to start Evening Session in R.K.S.D. College, Kaithal by Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra and Government of Haryana. The courses for which sanction has been made by the Govt. of Haryana are B.A., B.Com.: M.A.(English), M.A. (Hindi);M.A. (Economics), and M.Com. The staff of the evening classes has been paid their salary for the period ending March, 2019.

In the year 2004 the said Society started a College of Pharmacy i.e. R.K.S.D. College of Pharmacy, Kaithal for catering the needs of the area. This part of the State is called Northern part of Haryana and Kurukshetra is at a distance of nearly 50 Kms. Kaithal town is having more than 10 Senior Secondary Schools with Science (Medical & Non-Medical) streams. The institution is recognized by the AICTE and affiliated to Dr. B.D. Sharma University, Rohtak. Number of students passing their 12th class is nearly 1000 a year. In the nearby town of the district an equal number of Senior Secondary School are there, and they also produce an equal number of students in the science stream. The said society has been making every sincere effort to look to the educational needs of the area and took a decision to start a college of Pharmacy. The salary of teaching and none teaching staff stand paid for the month of March, 2019 and the payment is regular.

In the year 2006 the said Society started a College of Education i.e. R.K.S.D. College of Education, Kaithal for catering the needs of the area recognition by the NCTE (NRC) and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. This part of the State is called Northern part of Haryana and Kurukshetra is at a distance of nearly 50 Kms. Kaithal town is having more than 5 under graduate colleges and they also produce an equal number of students in the Arts, Science and Commerce stream. The said Society has been making every sincere effort to look to the educational needs of the area and took a decision to start a college of Education. The salary of teaching and non-teaching staff stand paid for the month of March, 2019 and the payment is regular.

The said Society is owning an area of nearly 12 acres over which the building of Post Graduate College (Morning & Evening sessions), Senior Secondary School, College of Pharmacy as well as College of Education is constructed. For Post Graduate College, there exists a Stadium as well as Indoor Stadium under UGC Grant having courts for different games and a track for Athletics.

The Society has been making sustained efforts to keep up with the educational needs of Kaithal District as a whole and keeping in view the importance of the professional and job oriented course. The society is making the honest and sincere efforts to cope up with the need of the hour.
