NSS UNITS 33, 34, 35
All the three units of National Service Scheme of RKSD College, Kaithal have been functioning well with so many activities furnishing development to the volunteers as well as the community. The Programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal are doing their best with the support of the Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal and other faculties in the college. In the regular activities so many community development programmes, webinars, awareness programmes, observation of national festivals etc were successfully conducted with the support and participation of the volunteers.
Activities
Pledge on no to drugs (12th August, 2022)
A pledge was taken on 12th August, 2022 by NSS volunteers to say no to drugs. A rally was also organized to aware the students about the bad effect of drugs. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event.
Har Ghar Trianga Abhiyan (13th August, 2022)
Har Ghar Trianga Abhiyan was organised by NSS cell of the College 13 August 2022. NSS volunteers visited the nearby jhuggi jhopdi to aware them about the importance of Trianga and told them to install tiranga on the top of their house on Independence Day. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event.
Poster Making competition on Trianga (14th August, 2022)
Poster Making on Trianga competition was organised by NSS cell of the College on 14 August 2022. NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in this competition. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event.
Celebration of Independence Day (15th August, 2022)
Independence Day was celebrated in the college in which NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this celebration.
Celebration of teachers day and tree plantation (05th September, 2022)
Teacher’s day was celebrated on 05 September 2022. NSS cell of the College organized tree plantation drive. Volunteers planted trees in the college campus. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event.
Postik Aahar Abhiyan (08th September, 2022)
Posik Ahar Abhiyan was organised by NSS units of the College on 08th September, 2022. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal told the volunteers not to eat junk food. They told the volunteers to aware the society about the bad effects of junk food.
Blood donation camp (10th September, 2022)
A blood donation camp was organized by the NSS Cell of the college in collaboration with Punjab Kesri in the Rama Krishana hall of the college. In this camp 75 units of blood were collected. NSS volunteers participated enthusically in this blood donation camp.
Clean India Campaign (19th Oct, 2022)
As a part of the Clean India Campaign 2.0 a Mega ‘ Swachhata’ drive was organised by NSS cell of the College on 19th October 2022. Volunteers gathered in the college campus at 10 am. Volunteers worked in small teams. Approximately 50 kg single use plastic was collected from sector 21 and Ambala road. Officiating Principal Dr. Mehla started the cleaniness drive from the college campus. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 150 students participated in this event.
Fit India Campaign (21th Oct, 2022)
As a part of the fit India Campaign 3.0 was organised by NSS cell of the college on 21 October 2022. The volunteers gathered in the college campus at 10 am. Officiating Principal Dr. S.S. Mehla kicked off the rally from the college campus. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 120 students participated in this event. They participated in the race held at Stadium of RKSD College .The mission of this campaign was to inculcate the habbit of walking and running in the students with the quest for better health and fitness.
National Unity Day (31th Oct, 2022)
As a part of national unity day a rally was organised by NSS cell of the college to celebrate birth anniversary of sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31 October 2022. The volunteers gathered in the college campus at 12 pm. Principal Dr. S. K. Goyal a kicked off the rally from the college campus. NSS programmeofficers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 60 students participated in this event.The mission of this campaign is to show natinal unity. A pledge was also taken by the volunteers.
Induction Programme (22nd Nov, 2022)
NSS Induction Programme was organised on 22 November 2022 at 11:00AM in the Main Hall of the College. Worthy Principal, Dr Sanjay Goyal presided over the programme. It was compulsory for all the new volunteers. Dr. Sanjay Garg conducted the stage and welcomed the new volunteers and told the students about the moto of NSS. NSS Activity Calendar was discussed by Dr. Shweta Garg. Dr. Rajesh Deshwal proposed a vote of thanks.
Constitution Day (26th Nov, 2022)
NSS cell of the College, celebrated the constitution day and Shahidi Divas of Guru Teg Bahadur on 26th November. NSS programme officers and volunteers took oath to follow the Indian constitution.
Webinar on Food (6th December, 2022)
On 6th December 2022, NSS volunteers joined webinar organised by Vegan Outreach. More than 100 students attended the live event and learned about the impact of dietary choices on health, animals, and the environment.NSS Coordinators Dr. Sanjay Garg, Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Rajesh Deshwal and Vegan Outreach representatives Abhishek Dubey and Nija Dhillon were present at the event. In the one-hour live session, Outreach Coordinator Abhishek Dubey explained the importance of a vegan diet and its health benefits. He also educated the students about the impact of meat and dairy on animals and the environment.
“We consume meat, assuming that it’s healthy for us. This session was an eye-opening experience for all. We are thankful to the Vegan Outreach team for enlightening the students.”During the webinar, students pledged to help animals and the environment by reducing their animal product consumption and learned about the impact of animal agriculture on the environment and animals. Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that such type of event will definitely have a positive impact on the minds of the students.
Pledge on Road Safety (9th December, 2022)
A pledge was taken on 09th December 2022 at 10:50AM regarding road safety. Around 60 Volunteers pledged to follow the road safety rules. NSS programme officers Dr Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh deshwal were also present during this pledge.
Cleaniness Drive (12th December, 2022)
Cleaniness Drive was organised by NSS cell of the college on 12th December 2022. Volunteers gathered near the library of the college at 2 pm. Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal started the cleaniness drive. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 70 students participated in this event and cleaned the college campus.
Swachhata’ Abhiyan (29th December, 2022)
“Swachhata Abhiyan” was organised by NSS cell of the College on 29th December 2022 to celebrate the Guru Govind Singh Jayanti. Volunteers gathered in the college campus at 10 am. Volunteers worked in small teams onwards. 15 kg plastic waste collected from college campus. Officiating Principal Dr. Mehla started the cleaniness drive from the college campus. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 50 students participated in this event. At the end of cleanliness drive refreshment was given to the volunteers.
National Youth Day (12th January, 2023)
National Youth Day was celebrated on 12.1.2023 by the NSS cell of the college. All the NSS POs and volunteers took oath to follow the message of swami vivekananda. A marathon was organised to celebrate this day. Principal Dr Sanjay Goyal told the students to follow the message of swami vivekananda in your life.
Road Safety Rally (16th January, 2023)
A road safety rally was organised on 16.1.2023 by the NSS volunteers of the college. NSS programme Officers Dr. Shweta Garg Dr Sanjay garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal along with the Volunteers took oath that they will wear helmet while driving two wheeler and use seat belt while driving a car. Dr. Sanjay Garg told the volunteers that they should not use alcohol while driving and make their friends relatives aware about it. Principal Dr. S K Goyal encouraged the volunteers to. Participate in such social activities.
Cancer Day celebration (04th Febuary, 2023)
Cancer Day was celebrated on 4.2 2023 by the NSS cell of college in collaboration with alumni cell and lions club Kaithal. Dr. Vijay Bansal head department of oncology IVY hospital Mohali was the keynote speaker. Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal welcomed the keynote speaker. Dr. Bansal told the main causes of cancer and different stages of cancer. He told the interesting fact that 60 percentage cases of cancer can be prevented by healthy life style. About 60 NSS volunteers were present in this event. NSS programme officer Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg, Sh. Rajesh Deshwal were also present during this talk. NSS Programme officer Dr. Sanjay Garg presented a vote of thanks in the end.
Blood Donation Camp (28th Febuary, 2023)
A blood donation camp was organized by the NSS Cell of the college in the Rama Krishana hall of the college. The camp was inaugurated by Deputy commissioner Kaithal Dr. Sangeeta Tetarwal President Sh. Saket Mangal, Vice President Sh. Naresh Shorewala, Sh. Ashwani Shorewala, Secretary Sh Pankaj Bansal, Treasurer Sh. Shyam Bansal and Principal Dr.Sanjay Goyal. In this camp 90 units of blood were collected by Nobal Blood bank. NSS volunteers participated enthusically in this blood donation camp.
Seven Days day and Night Camp (1st March to 7th March 2023)
A seven days day and night NSS Camp was organized at the village PattiAfgan from 1st March to 7th March 2023. The camp was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal. Each day the camp started in the morning with NSS songs and prayers followed by yoga sessions. A debate on use/ misuse of mobile phone and single/ joint families was organized. Dr. Jitender Gill, ayurved specialist from Ayush Ministry was the chief guests on second day. He told the volunteers about the benefits of ayurvedic herbs. A rally was also organized by the volunteers in the village PattiAfgan. Dr. Geeta Goyal, associate professor in English was the chief guests on third day. She talked about women empowerment.
Dr. Ujawal Sharma, retired principal Hindu girl college, Jagadhari was the chief guests on forth day who told the volunteers about environment. She discussed the main causes of environment degradation. Dr. Birbal Dalal, district Red Cross Trainer was the chief guests on fifth day who trained the volunteers on first aid. Sh Navneet Goel director R.K.S.D. College of pharmacy, Kaithal was the chief guest on the sixth day who appealed to the volunteers to make their lives noble and high by making the society an ideal place to live in. In the post-lunch session sh. Mange Ram Saini, Road Safety Manager, Gadi Padla Driving Institute informed the volunteers about the rules of the road. On the concluding day of the camp, Sh. Shayam Bansal motivated the volunteers by calling youth the real power in taking this nation forward. Dr. Anand Kumar, overall NSS Coordinator NSS, KUK was the chief guest. Principal Sanjay Goyal welcomed him. Dr. Anand elaborated the need and importance of a self-reliant nation. Cultural activities, cleanliness drives, debates and discussions, poster and slogans exhibitions were parts of the daily routine of the camp.
Yuva Samvad (20th March, 2023)
District level “yuva samvad” on the topic Panch Pran was organized by the NSS cell of the college. In this competition Priya Simran, Pooja, Renu and Shivani were selected at district level and will participate in state level function. Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal congratulated these winners. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event.
Participation in University level NSS Camp (25th March to 31st March 2023)
13 NSS Volunteers of the college participated in University level NSS Camp organized at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra from 25th -31st March 2023. Principal, Dr. Sanjay Goyal congratulated all the volunteers on successful completion of the camp and getting many positions in various activities being performed in the camp. Dr. Sanjay Goyal also distributed merit certificates to the participant volunteers on reaching the college campus. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg Dr. Sanjay Garg, Dr. Rajesh Deshwal encouraged the Volunteers to participate in such type of camp.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and Ambedkar Jayanti (13th April, 2023)
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated on 13.4. 2023 by the NSS cell of college. Two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the Martyrs. Patriotic songs were sung and poems were recited in the memory of Martyrs. NSS programme officers Dr. Shweta Garg, Dr. Sanjay Garg and Dr. Rajesh Deshwal were present during this event. Around 70 Volunteers participated in this event.
