INSTITUTIONAL SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (ISR)

The college as catalyst of social work, provides human resources/logistics to various social/religious/voluntary organizations and district administration to carry forward their plans in organizing:

  • Blood donation camps

  • Gender sensitization programs

  • Voter awareness programs

  • Tree plantation drives

  • Menstrual health and hygiene programs

  • Health check-up camps

  • Rallies etc.

In collaboration with Haryana Sahitya Academy, whose patron is the principal, RKSD College Kaithal, the following events are regularly held:

  • ‘Kavi Sammelan’

  • ‘Samman Samaroh’

  • ‘Kavi Darbar’

These events involve citizens, students, teachers, and parents.

Vidya Vahini

To address the problem of security and safety of the girls students who commute from nearby villages to reach the college after alighting from the roadways bus at various stops, RKSD (PG) College prepared a project to start a circular bus service especially for girls. The District administration, Kaithal implemented this project named ‘Vidya Vahini’ with funding from IGL under CSR.

Thereafter, a subsidised monthly bus-pass service catering to female students covering all the colleges of Kaithal district was started on 6 September 2019.
1200+ female students travel safely in Vidya Vahini to their respective institutions daily.

The project got recognition at national level and was selected as one of 25 innovative initiatives out of entries from 640 Districts across the country where ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ is being implemented.

To motivate and emulate such initiatives, the project got published in ‘Chronicles of Change Champions’ published by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, in March 2020.

The project is helping overcome barriers towards women’s education by providing female students with safe and frequent transportation.
