RKSD College commemorated its 71st Foundation Day on 5 December 2024 with enthusiasm and pride, marking the birth anniversary of its visionary founder, late Seth Makhan Lal ji. The celebration commenced with a traditional havan ceremony. The event was attended by key dignitaries including Mr Ashwani Shorewala, President of the Managing Committee, along with other office bearers, officials from Rashtriya Vidya Samiti, and Dr Sanjay Goyal, the College Principal.
During the celebration, Dr Goyal addressed the gathering and shared the college’s academic progress, highlighting forthcoming developments such as new master’s programmes and enhancements to the Bachelor of Computer Applications curriculum, with a special focus on intelligence and cybercrime studies. He also announced the introduction of four new courses in Psychology, Sociology, Sports Science, and Mass Communication.
The event featured presentations of research papers by distinguished faculty members including Dr Ashok Atri, Dr Surender Arya, Dr S.P. Verma, and Professor Dinesh. A significant announcement was made regarding Dr Om Prakash Saini’s promotion to Professor under the Career Advancement Scheme.
President, Mr Ashwani Shorewala, expressed gratitude to the previous management for maintaining the college’s legacy of success and committed to continuing efforts for excellence. He pledged to introduce beneficial courses for students and society. The event was attended by various stakeholders including principals from affiliated institutions, retired principals, teaching and non-teaching staff, and city guests. Dr Surender Arya served as the programme coordinator for the ceremony.
The celebration not only honoured the institution’s founder but also demonstrated its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and continuous evolution in higher education, carrying forward the vision of late Seth Makhan Lal ji who established this premier institution 71 years ago.
