About

Established in 1959, Dept. of Physics has played a significant role in popularizing Science and its education at school and college level. The founding generation of this department includes Physicists like Sh. K K Khanna, Sh R L Gupta, Sh. S K Gupta and Dr. H S Saini. Dr. S.K. Goyal, a popular faculty of the dept. and a renowned researcher joined as regular Principal of the College on 13.11. 2018. Currently, the department offers UG Science course i.e. B.Sc. Non-Medical with optional subjects of Electronics and Computer Science. Over the years the Department has emerged as an excellent center of teaching-learning and research. Department is committed to well-being and all-round development of the students. The department is very well equipped with modern facilities like full-fledged laboratories, library with text books and reference books and experienced technical staff. The department has eight faculty members, two on permanent basis and six on ad-hoc basis. Total number of sanctioned posts is four.  Currently, Dr. A. K. Narula is the Head of the Department and is actively engaged in research work in the area of Radiation measurements and underground water studies.

  • Understanding and appreciation of core physical theories: Classical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Optics, Quantum and Statistical Mechanics, Atomic and Molecular spectroscopy.

Physical Society

The Physical Society is an association explicitly planned for students, dedicated to connecting and advancing students interested in physics.  It provides skills not offered in coursework, such as leadership experience, networking, outreach services, and effective communication in professional meetings. It also organised tour to scientific institutions and universities of the region, Cultural activities, essay writing, Poster and power point presentations and movie shows.
