Online Classroom Presentation cum Seminar on ‘Analysis of the History of Old English Anglo Saxon Literature From 7th Century Till to the Beginning of 14th Century'(just before Geoffrey Chaucer).

Dr S P Verma organised an online Classroom Presentation cum Seminar on 28th May 2021 for his M A Previous Tutorial students on ‘Analysis of the History of Old English Anglo Saxon Literature From 7th Century Till to the Beginning of 14th Century'(just before Geoffrey Chaucer). While Shristika Garg and Sonia Panchal presented the oral tradition of the old English Literature with the focus on the subject matters of religion,war and routines of daily lives beginning with texts such as Caedmon’s Hymn,Doer’s Lament,The Dream of the Rood,The Searfarer,The Wanderer and Beowulf in the 7th century with their PPTs on Google Meet , Rita Devi, Shivani,Ashish Sharma, and Kavita presented their papers orally on the change that came in the old Anglo Saxon poetry after the Norman Conquest of 1066,presented their analysis on the gradual shift from the subject matter of war to love,on the versification used in poetry from 7th to 13th c and significantly on language which was constantly in a state of reflux(struggle between Latin,French and the local language English) because of the Norman Conquest. Dr Geeta Goyal from the department spared her valuable time for the meeting and boosted the morale of these prospering students with her valuable inputs. It was indeed quite remarkable to see their seriousness,enthusiasm and interest which they shown in their presentations. About 18 students overall were present in the meeting.
