Educational tour of Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla

An educational tour of Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla was organized for a team of 65 students of MA English and B.Sc. I of RKSD (PG) College, Kaithal on the 27th of May 2022. The team was led by Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, Associate Professor, Department of English. Dr. Himani Agrawal, Mrs. Reena Makkar and Mr. Pushpendra were other teachers who were part of the team. The team left on May 27 at 4 am and returned to Kaithal the next day at 8 am. The students enjoyed the sightseeing of historically and culturally important places of Shimla like Mall Road, Lakkar Bazar, Ridge, Gaiety Theatre, Kalka Shimla Toy Train and Jakhu Temple. To reach Jakhu, the students were made to sit in the ropeway trolley, which was a thrilling experience for them. The students were also given information about the colonial past and naming of Shimla. Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal, congratulated the department of English and emphasised upon the relevance of field trips. Dr. Rajbir Parashar, the Head, Department of English, Dr. Seema Gupta, Dr. Geeta Goel, Dr. Manjula Goyal, Dr. Suruchi Sharma and other colleagues also congratulated the students.
