Department of Chemistry organised two National-level online activities- Chemistry Quiz Competition and Chemistry Article Writing Competition for UG students on 23.05.2022. The theme of Quiz was ‘World of Chemistry’, in which 45 students took part from 17 colleges. The time limit for quiz was 20 minutes and it was conducted online through Google form. The topics of Article Writing Competition were- Chemistry in Food, Chemistry in Drugs, Chemistry in Warfare and Chemistry in Nature; in which 23 students from 13 colleges participated and submitted their articles online. The results of both the competitions were declared on 26.05.2022. In Article Writing Competition, Himanshu of RKSD PG College, Kaithal got First position, Sakshi of Indira Priyadarshini College for Women, Jhajjar got Second and Mehak of DAV College, Ambala City got Third position. In Quiz Competition, Nimit of Arya PG college, Panipat got First position, Divya of RKSD PG College, Kaithal got Second and Anubhuti Rana of Dayal Singh College, Karnal got Third position. The winners of both the competitions were awarded with cash prizes of Rs. 700, 500, and 400 for first, second and third positions respectively. All the participants of Article Writing Competition were given e-certificates. In Quiz Competition, the participants who scored above 75% marks were presented with e-certificates. These National online Competitions were successfully conducted by Dr Shilpy Aggarwal (convener and Head, Dept of Chemistry), Dr Ashok Kumar (co-convener) and Dr Shweta Garg (organising secretary). Organising committee members Ms Renu Garg, Ms Chetna Jindal, Ms Shinu Goyal and Ms Komal Dhiman also played an important part to make these activities a great success. President of RKSD Group of Institutions Sh. Saket Mangal ji Advocate and other Office-bearers congratulated and motivated the winning students. Former Principal of RKSD PG College Sh. K. K. Sirohi and Principal Dr. S. K. Goyal awarded cash prizes to the winners.
